Often considered more delicate than cherry shrimp (neocaridina), blue bolts prefer a pH of 5.5-6.8, a kH of 0-1 dkH, and a gH of 3-6 dgH. Nitrates should remain low, ideally below 20ppm. Cooler temperatures of 20-24 C are preferred. Stable water parameters are crucial to long term health of these shrimp. Drip acclimation prior to adding them to a new tank is strongly recommended.
